2019 Physician of the Year Award
Dr. Sasha Noe, DO, PhD, of Apollo Beach Family Medical Center, received the 2019 Physician of the Year award from the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association during its 2019 Annual Convention. More than 900 osteopathic physicians, healthcare professionals and students attended.
The FOMA Physician of the Year award is presented to an osteopathic physician who, during the past year, made significant and considerable contributions to the osteopathic profession, to his or her patients and to the community on both a local and statewide level.
Noe was given this award in recognition and appreciation of her devotion as a leader, educator and role model for the association and osteopathic physicians in Florida. She received her osteopathic degree from LECOM Bradenton, started her own medical practice straight out of residency, and is now owner of three private practices in the Tampa Bay area, including the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Care clinic. Noe serves her community on a local, national and international level through her educational seminars, conferences, social media outlets and her one-of-a-kind MediCanna™ Academy, where she educates physicians on how to use medical cannabis to safely and effectively treat their patients.
As the only known physician in the United States with a PhD specifically in the field of molecular cannabinoid research, Noe is one of the nation’s leading experts in the field of medical cannabis. Her award-winning published research has contributed towards the advancement of the therapeutic potential for cannabis over the last two decades, being referenced nationally and worldwide in numerous scholarly articles and books.
The Florida Osteopathic Medical Association is the state association for osteopathic physicians in Florida. Based in Tallahassee, it has served osteopathic physicians since 1904 and was organized for the purposes of advancing the science and art of osteopathic medicine; extending the benefits of scientific advancement to the treatment, prevention and alleviation of human ailments; and promoting closer relationships between the osteopathic profession, FOMA members and other groups dedicated to improved health care.

Dr. Sasha Noe, a Board Certified Physician in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, hosted her Second Annual Apollo Beach Family Medical Center Patient Thanksgiving Dinner to thank her patients and staff for their trust and continued confidence in her for the care she provides. The dinner was held at the Florida room of the Sun City Center Community Association located on 1009 N. Pebble Beach Blvd, Sun City Center, FL 33573. There were many healthcare professionals who came together to make this event possible. See our website for a list of donors from the event. Sponsors included several physicians and health care professionals from the Apollo Beach, Ruskin, Riverview, and Sun City Center areas. There were also many volunteers from HOPEworldwide, a non-profit faith based organization dedicated to help meet the needs of the poor and needy, who were there to serve the delicious meal provided to the patients.
